Dubai, UAE: Messe Frankfurt Middle East (MFME) held its annual Staff and Supplier Awards, a celebration of excellence and dedication throughout 2023 on Thursday 14th December at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. These awards recognize the pivotal role played by individuals and external entities in contributing to the company's continued success.

The MFME Staff and Supplier awards feature a diverse set of 16 categories that recognize outstanding contributions and achievements both internally and externally. Nominations, reflecting incredible growth this year, are made by the entire team, demonstrating the value that staff see in each other's and partners' contributions.

“The Annual Staff and Supplier Awards are dedicated to rewarding the people behind our success,” said Simon Mellor, Regional CEO at Messe Frankfurt Middle East. He continued, “What’s incredible is that there were 30% more nominations than in 2022, which just underlines the importance that the team places on each other and their contributions.”

In particular, the most nominated category – with almost half of the office selected by their peers – was that of Unsung Hero, dedicated to those who, without seeking the limelight, make invaluable contributions that are truly felt in their absence. Against stiff competition, Communications Manager Sinan Hameed was awarded this in recognition of his valuable support in Arabic best practices and translations across the whole company.

The company is committed to the internal development of its staff, and recognizing emerging talents within the organization, with the Rising Star award won by Salama Kapadwanjwala, Head of Planning and Controlling, while the Number One Newcomer award, spotlighting newly joined employees celebrated two winners: Rob Sace, Art Director and Annas Shah, Head of IT, for demonstrating purpose and intention to deliver results while aligning with MFME's unique culture.

Other internal categories included the Innovation Champion accolade, won by Fabio Palma, Group Creative Director; the Most Valuable Player (MVP) recognition, won by Show Manager Ravi Ramchandni, and the Culture Queen award, won by Portfolio Director Flyn Roberts.

New for 2023, the Sporting Excellence awards, reflecting the company's commitment to recognizing and fostering growth within its sports teams went to Rami Hule for football, Christian Dela Pena for basketball and Gian Sicat for volleyball.

As MFME exhibitions in the Middle East have global reach, often with more than 60 countries represented among the exhibitors, the company relies on a network of Global Sales Partners to drive exhibitor attendance from territories around the world. The Global Sales Partner of the Year award went to Simon Albert, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt UK.

Other categories included HQ Support of the Year, the prestigious Partner in Excellence award, and the Going the Extra Mile award, which went to IT Manager Torsten Posselt; Dubai World Trade Centre, and Esraa Jawan from 1st Arabia Tradeshows & Conferences, respectively.

Mellor expressed his enthusiasm about the winners, stating, "Congratulations to all the deserving winners of the 2023 Awards. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication within our organization. We believe in the power of both internal and external contributions, and these awards reflect our commitment to acknowledging the individuals and entities that play a crucial role in our success. Their passion, commitment, and innovative spirit embody the values that drive MFME forward."
